2007 commemorates the 100th year of Portland, Oregon’s Rose Festival.
It seems appropriate to contrast the city… then and now.
Looking west on Burnside Street from the bridge into downtown,
a young girl of 1907 points to a trail of roses that indicates the passage
of
100 years into the modern Portland and the ‘old lady that she has
become.’

journal responsible for recording Oregon history with approximately 5,500
members and held in libraries across the region.
